The Skyscraper Strategy – Short Version

If you’re around in online marketing a bit, you probably know Brian Dean from Backlink. If you, you will know him after this post ;).

Brian is one of those unicorns that build a massive following with creating killer content. Over the years, he fine-tuned his content writing (or better: ranking) and gave it a name: The Skyscraper Strategy. 

Since the introduction of this strategy, online marketeers are really seeing this as the holy grail to copywriting.

I can hear you think… But it’s simple: the goal of this strategy is to outrank any other piece of content in the search results on this topic. How? Simple, follow these three steps:

  1. Identify a keyword or keywords you want to rank for
  2. Explore the current top 10 to get a better view on your competition around this topic
  3. Create content that is 10 times better, bigger, longer, in-depth that you’ve found.

Simple right? Haha, point 1 and 2 are. But how are you going to create content that is 10 times better than already existing content? Well, Brian made a video about this.
